Font dialog examples problem

I am using ActiveState's perl 5.8.0 build 806
I just installed prima and was trying out the examples. On the
fontdlg.pl example, the program aborts and
asks if I want to send an error report to MS (its Windows XP's version
of a core dump).

I noticed if I commented out the '&$re_size(1)' line near the end, the
screen would come up, but as
soon as I clicked on any font name the program ended with the same
error.

I tracked the error down to this line in the re_size code reference
(using print statements):
   my @list = @{$::application-> fonts( $fn, $name_changed ? '' :
$current_encoding)};

I don't know enough to get any further than that :-)
